Our community was saddened to hear of the death of Carl Holz who passed away in Topeka hospital Wednesday, August 17, at the age of 53 years., He was ill and in the hospital for three weeks. He was born in Wabaunsee county on July 18 , 1913. He was baptized and confirmed in the Immanuel Evangelical Church on Wells Creek and lived with his parents and were farmers in our community was a neighbor. Later they moved to a farm north of Rossville, and then to their home in Rossville, where he and his mother lived. He was preceded in death by his father, William Holz, three brothers, George, Alfred and Walter. One sister Mrs. Annie Maas. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Anna Holz, St. Marys; two sisters Mrs. Rosa Pageler, Wamego; and Mrs. Lela Richards, Bryte, Calif; and one brother, Wilmont Holz, Rossville; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Stewart Memorial Chapel in Wamego, interment in the Immanuel United church of Christ cemetery. Casket bearers were Harold Holz, Richard Beasterfeldt, Ernest Neidfeldt, Everett Mongold, Albert Coleman and Homer Van Vleck. Rev. Irvin Stegner officiated. We express our sympathy to the bereaved families.

Services for Carl Frederick Christian Holz, Rossville, were Saturday at Stewart, Memorial Chapel. Mr. Holz, 53, died Wednesday in a Topeka hospital after a long illness.
