Auch er ist im öffentlichen Leben tätig, wird 1628 Ratsverwandter und 1636 Bürgermeister. Mit Ausnahme seiner Tochter stirbt er und seine ganze Familie 1636 an der Pest.

Dem damaligen Pfarrer mag es schwer ums Herz gewesen sein, als er in sein Kirchenbuch die Worte schrieb: "Pestis incipit" (Die Pest geginnt. So hat diese Gottesgeisel den Zweig "Linhard" unseres Geschlechtes innerhalb weniger Wochen zum Verdorren gebracht.
