Odessa Region StateArchives, Fund 6, Inventory 1, File 67 , page 111Birth Source: In theDays of Our Youth: The Mennonite Heritage and Descendants , page56Death Source: Peter Epp and Anna Claassen and their descendants,chart Notes: In the 1835 census, he is listed at Elisabethal #3, whereit says he came to Russia in 1803 and moved to Elisabethal in 1828from Blumstein. The entry for Blumstein #35 says he came to Blumsteinin 1825 from the Chortitza Colony. The age given in the 1835Molotschna Census indicates he may have been been born abt 1798. Onefamily record says he was married in 1819 in Prussia, and also diedthere! Johann Epp says he is born in Russia (p. 18) Six sons and fourdaughters were born to this union of which the first Peter and thefirst Anna died in infancy. The remaining five sons all went toAmerica during 1874-77. All contact was lost with the three daughterswho stayed in the Soviet Union.
