PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. - Barbara Beardsley Borneman, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Paradise Valley, Ariz., surrounded, in part, by her loving family on Dec. 29, 2016. Barbara was dearly loved by all, including her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Barbara was born to Olive and Ed Beardsley, one of three children, in Elkhart. She grew up in Elkhart, married H. Ross Borneman after the war, and raised her family of three there. Her family is deeply rooted to Elkhart, which includes her relatives who originally founded the town in 1831. Barbara lent support to her husband in the start-up and building of Elkhart Products Corporation, a manufacturing company. Barbara was a lovely lady, generous and truly cared about others. She cherished her lifelong friends in Elkhart; Naples, Fla.; and Scottsdale, Ariz. She tastefully designed three homes over her lifetime. Barbara served for 28 years as a trustee and member of the Memorial Garden Guild at St. Barnabas Church in Paradise Valley. During her earlier years, she volunteered in the hospital in order to help and provide companionship to patients. She enjoyed athletics including golf, tennis, curling, and water skiing. Barbara graduated from Dana Hall School in Wellesley, Mass. and attended the University of Wisconsin. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Rick) Burke, son, Peter (Beverly) Borneman and daughter-in-law, Valarie (Leland) Bisbee; her grandchildren, Amy Schildt, Heather Smith, Kelley Haywood, Parker Borneman, Laura Borneman, Ashley Borneman and Brian Borneman; her great-grandchildren Natalie Schildt; Burke and Luke Smith; Jack, Alex and Todd Haywood. Barbara is pre-deceased by her husband H. Ross Borneman, son Ross Borneman and her brothers David and Lehman Beardsley. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary in Scottsdale, Ariz. A Memorial Service will be held on 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at St. Barnabas on the Desert, 6715 Mockingbird Lane, Paradise Valley, Scottsdale, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, Scottsdale, Ariz. or St. Barnabas on the Desert. Elkhart Truth Elkhart, Indiana Jan. 22, 2017
