HAUSE Mrs. Ida Theresa Thomas Hause, 89, mother of Mrs. Harry (Mary) Gulmyer, 302 North Second, Elkhart, Ind., died unexpectedly at 5:15 p.m. Sunday (March 31, 1946) in the Gulmyer home. Although Mrs. Hause had not been in good health since a fall several years ago, she had been fairly well recently and had visited that afternoon in the home here of her granddaughter, Mrs. George O. (Zella) Borneman. Mrs. Hause, a native of southern Indiana, had lived in Elkhart off and on for 25 years, having divided her time among her children. She was a descendent of a Clark county, Ind., pioneer family, and was born at Jeffersonville, July 5, 1856, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Thomas. Her husband, John, died in Jeffersonville in 1902. Surviving beside Mrs. Gulmyer are another daughter, Mrs. J. M. (Clara) Upton, and a son V. R. Hause, both of Indianapolis. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. The grandchildren are Mrs. Borneman and Mrs. Frank (Mary) Gravatt of Elkhart, Mrs. W. M. (Rae) DeWitt of South Bend, Mrs. S. Godfrey (Virginia) Hill of Indianapolis, and Richard Gulmyer of Anderson, Ind. Mrs. Hause was a member of the Methodist church at Jeffersonville. Funeral services will be held at the Zelle funeral home, 403 West Franklin, Elkhart, at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, in charge of Frank Bundy, reader of the First Church of Christ Scientist. Burial will be in Rice cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 this evening. Pallbearers, the family said today, will be Mrs. Hause's great-grandsons.
