1. J.T. was educated in the subscription school of Oklahoma. He graduated
from Ft. Smith Business College and from the University of Arkansas.
2. James held a number of positions in Sequoyah county, OK: county judge
from 1928-1952 (with the exception of 4 years), deputy county clerk,
1917; county clerk, 1917-1921; justice of the peace in Vian in 1926;
city attorney in Vian, 1927-29. He came to Oklahoma in 1896.
3. Was a resident of Sallisaw, OK and in 1930 he was the county judge.
4. Have also seen the given name of his wife as Delilah.
5. His wife, Sally Thompson, according to family legend, disappeared with
a travelling salesman leaving her husband.
