Irene M. Myers, 92, of Watertown, Wis., was called by the Lord to eternal rest on Friday evening, April 17, 2009, at the Watertown Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be noon Wednesday at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Michael Jensen officiating. The visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Zumbrota Cemetery in Zumbrota, Minn., with the Rev. Timothy Kemnitz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mark's Lutheran School. The Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown is in charge of arrangements.
The former Irene Margaret Bredehoft was born on July 12, 1916, in Zumbrota, daughter of John and Cuzina (Stechman) Bredehoft. On Oct. 2, 1940, she married Emmett Myers. He preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 1984. Irene was a Christian and lived her faith. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown and its ladies aid.
Irene is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Glen) Storrs of Watertown; a son, Steven (Angelita) Myers of Seattle, Wash.; eight grandchildren, Robin (Kyle) Koltz, Deborah (Timothy) Kemnitz, Timothy (Tina) Storrs, Kathleen (John) Bjorge, Tricia Sletten, Jamie (Mandy) Myers, Justin (Jena) Myers and Luke (Darcy) Myers; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Smith of Red Wing, Minn.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Irene was further preceded in death by her parents and her brotherand sister-in-law, Walter and Ebba Bredehoft.
