Buening Sr., 97, of Effingham died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, rural Effingham (Green Creek), with burial in the church cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation willbe from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with a combined Holy Name and Knights of Columbus rosary at 6 p.m. and a parish wake service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Mr. Buening was born Jan. 11, 1912, in Sigel, the son of Henry and Dora (Kettman) Buening. He married Pauline K. Waldhoff Sept. 11, 1946, and she preceded him in death in 1991. He was co-owner and operator of Buening Implement in Effingham. Mr. Buening was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Sigel Knights of Columbus Council 11100 and a lifetime member of VFW Post 1769. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the 96th Infantry Division. Survivors include his sons, George (Dorothy) of Mason, Fred, Larry, John (Teri), Richard, Albert Jr. and Paul, all of Effingham; daughters, Mary (Norbert) Brauer of Altamont, Doris (Chuck) Bales of Teutopolis, Joan (Dan) Printz of Effingham, Loretta Landreth of Chatham and Christy Martin of Effingham; brothers, Norbert (Virginia) and Walter, both of Effingham, and Raymond of Teutopolis; sister, Marie Schoenhoff of Effingham; 31 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Joe, John and Henry; sisters, Madonna Kink and Anne Dallas; and grandson, William. Nach den Änderungen von 1939 wandelten sich die Zahlungen in monatliche Leistungen um undwurden erhöht. Nach weiteren Änderungen von 1950 stiegen die Lebenshaltungskosten für diejenigen, die Leistungen erhalten hatten. Von 1950 bis zur Gegenwart, erhöhen sich die jährlichen Leistungen als Reaktion auf die Inflation der Lebenshaltungskosten.
