Her maternal ancestry runs back to Henry Rockey from Switz-
erland, settled in Bart twp.. Lanc. Co., Pa., and had son [actually a grandson]
George Rockey [1777-1843], who m. Catharine Baker, of Southampton Co.. Pa., and had
dau. Elizabeth Ann Rockey, who was m. to Matthew Knox (1788-
1838), a shoemaker, who came from Ireland in 1825; they had Isabella
Knox, who was m. to John Baird Bachman, and had Florence Re-
becca Bachman.
