Earl A. DeWerff, age 63, of Hinckley, IL, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2005 at the Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on September 3, 1941 in Litchfield, IL, the fifth child of Udell and Ruth (Angle) DeWerff. Earl grew up at Mooseheart from 1945-1959, where he met his future wife, Mary Frances Boyer. He and Mary were united in marriage on March 18, 1961 at the First Baptist Church in Decatur, IL. They spent the next 42 years together until Mary's passing on December 5, 2003. He taught for 39 years at Hinckley-Big Rock High School.

Earl was baptized March 6, 1955 at the First Baptist Church in Batavia, IL. He was a member of the Hinckley United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Dwyane) Eriksen of Naperville, IL, Robin (Mark) Chuk of Aurora, IL, Dawn (Neil) McQuality of Montgomery, IL and Jodi (Owen) Smith of Sandwich, IL; his grandchildren, Emma and Anna Eriksen, Vanessa Chuk, Tyler and Tanner McQuality, Jackson and Savannah Smith; his sister, Lois (Bill) Haeger of Woodlawn, Washington; his brother, Robert (Donna) DeWerff of Greenville, OH;

his sisters-in-law, Elaine DeWerff of Texas, Alice DeWerff of Tennessee, Patricia DeWerff of Winfield, IL, Dorothy (Mark) McQuillen of Georgia, and Margaret Boyer of Pennsylvania; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Udell and Ruth DeWerff; his beloved wife, Mary; his brothers, Carl, Raymond and Dale; and his granddaughter, Cassandra Kristine Chuk.

Funeral services will be held on February 22, 2005 at the Hinckley First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Hinckley, IL. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Homes, 815-286-3247 or 630-553-7611.
