| Obituary | 27 Dec 1935 Rhyan Funeral to Be Held Saturday --- BROOKSTON, Dec. 26. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon for Clarence O. Rhyan, 52, formerly of West Lafayette, who died at 5 a. m. Wednesday at the family home, two and one half miles east of here. Short services will be held at the home at 1 o'clock, followed by a Christian Science service at 1:30 o'clock in the Brookston M. E. church. Burial will be in Grand View cemetery, West Lafayette. Death followed an illness of six months. Mr. Rhyan was born in Columbus, Ohio, July 23, 1883 [note: his WWI draft card states 1881], a son of Charles W. and Sarah E. Rhyan. In 1901 he married May Heath, who died 24 years ago, and two years later he married Lillie Beeker. For a number of years he resided in West Lafayette, and was engaged as an automobile salesman there and in Lafayette. Nine years ago the family moved to this community and he took up farming. Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. John L. Summers, Brookston, and Mrs. Prudence Kelly, Chicago; a son, Fred, of Mishawaka, and three brothers, Cary Rhyan of California, and Truman and Albert Rhyan, Indianapolis. | Lafayette, Tippecanoe, Indiana, United States Rhyan Funeral to Be Held Saturday --- BROOKSTON, Dec. 26.
