From "The Descendants of Wenceslaus and Agnes Solek Nowotny" by Vera Jean Patton Nowotny: Franz Nowotny was born 28 October 1838 at "Bechim, [Budweis] Austria." [This would later become known as Bechyne, Budjedovice, Czechoslovakia]. He immigrated with his parents to New Braunfels, Comal County, Texas, in 1854. In 1858 he married Marie Daum, and in 1866 he was granted citizenship, and he died 18 March 1912. They were the parents of 12 children.
