Der erste Montanindustrielle des Saarlandes, Johann Gottfried Röchling, geb. 1703 (ebenfalls in Wickede), war sein Neffe. Nur: über wen? Über Göddert (Gottfried)?
Er gilt nach zwei Bürgerlisten mit Besitzstanderhebung (1735 und 1741) als wohlhabend. Der Vermögensnachweis von 1735 bewertet seine Güter auf 150 fl 21 alb und sein Vieh auf 30 fl.
