Holly was born January 4, 1920 in Chicago, the daughter of Arthur and Eva Gregory Whetherhult and they preceded her in death in addition to one sister, Jean Schmidt and one son, Michael Johnson. She married John Johnson on November 4, 1940 in Chicago and he preceded her in death on September 25, 1970. She later married Walter Hartke on October 28, 1972 in Crescent City and he preceded her in death on March 23, 1974. She is survived by one daughter, Holly (Werner) Janssen of Watseka; one son, Dennis (Eneida) Johnson of Wollsey, SD; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hartke was a member of the United Methodist Church in Crescent City. She was an LPN at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka for many years and also volunteered at Iroquois Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Kingdon Gardens in Watseka. Rev. Bobbi Shultz will officiate. Burial will be in Flesher Cemetery at Crescent City. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Crescent City. Arrangements by Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
