He was born March 15, 1936 in Industry to Evelyn (Rinn) Schultz and Arno G. Schultz Sr. Arno's nickname, "Cowboy" was given to him at Dow Chemical Co. by his coworkers; he always wore a cowboy hat and boots, and had a trailer hitch on his IH pick-up. Arno worked at Dow Chemical for 17 years; he never rode a horse or owned cattle back then. Arno did custom corn pulling and farming in the 50's and 60's, at that time Arno and his brother Calvin started Schultz Bros. Trucking, he continued farming with his family after leaving Dow Chemical. Arno was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and served on the church council, he also enjoyed going to antique and estate auctions, collecting toy riding tractors, IH farm toys, stamp collecting, and wood working. He enjoyed cooking, and was a member of several cooking teams. Arno's love in life was farming and hunting. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, February 10, 2014 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2014 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Arno is preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Arno Schultz, Sr.; and sister-in-law, Sue Schultz. He leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Shirley Schultz; children, Cheryl and Bill Lewis, Dana and Sherrie Schultz, Sterling Schultz, Paula and George Horak, Stacy and Jim Broussard, Michael and Lesa Smith; siblings, Dorothy and husband Allen Able, Calvin and wife, Toni Schultz and Kirby Schultz; grandchildren, Adam and Lauren Lewis, Taylor Lewis, Ashley Schultz, Dylan Schultz, Allen and Sheila Horak, Brenda Horak, Clinton and Darby Broussard, Curtis and Becca Broussard, Brittnie Chandler, Michael Brayden Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews. The Schultz family would like to thank Houston Hospice and the caregivers, Helon Snider Guajardo, Misty Mader Tyler, and Jessica Frazier, as well as son-in-law, George Horak and who went above and beyond to care for Arno. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Memorial Fund in Cowboy's name.
