Henry, 86, of St. Paul died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Howard County Medical Center, St. Paul. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island, with the Rev. Scott Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Betty J. Henry was born Jan. 1, 1927, at Grand Island to Buss and Sadie (Sheffield) Stapleton. When Betty was young, she moved with her family to Glendale, Calif. She completed her education there graduating from high school. Betty began her working years in the telephone industry. She then began working in the sewing and upholstery business where she met William F. "Bill" Henry. She was united in marriage to "Bill" on June 10, 1978, at Love's Chapel at Lake Tahoe. Betty and Bill began their own upholstery business and operated it until they retired. The couple moved to Grand Island in 1989 and later moved to the St. Paul area. Survivors include her stepchildren, William Henry, Jr. of California, Daniel Henry of Washington and Loretta Henry of California; and a number of cousins. Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Stapleton.
