He was born June 4, 1935, in his grandparents' home in Riverton, Utah, to Pearl Miller and Charles Albert Howell. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Kay Bills: Children Regan (Jen), Ryan (Nicki), Camille (Brad) Mortensen, Carson (Michelle), Brady-deceased (Liz), and 16 grandchildren: sisters: Arva (Karl) Nelson, Arlene (Alan) Christensen, and Joan (Norm) Wood. Ken grew up in Draper, Utah. Ken learned to work and be responsible on his father's poultry, mink and rabbit ranch. He had a happy childhood and many friends. Bikes, motor scooters and cars captured his heart. He never out-grew it. He served a mission in Austria and learned to love the people and the culture. After meeting Jeanette on a blind-date, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple January 12, 1962. As a student, he loved being involved in the campus activities and decided to make a career out of it. . After graduating from BYU he worked for 2 years at Ohio University and then 33 years at Ricks College serving as director of the Manwaring Center and then as Director of Public Relations. He also loved to travel and created a travel business with wonderful trips to Europe, Church history and American history sites, Hawaii and Alaska. Ken served his community throughout his life, bringing the International Folk Dance Festival to Idaho being awarded Citizen of the Year in Rexburg, being involved in Historic St George Live! and serving 6 years as his HOA president. As a devoted member of the LDS Church, Ken served in many callings including bishoprics, high councils, stake president and teaching in the Primary. To Ken's family, he was the best husband, father, and grandfather. He was the fun-maker, peacemaker and the best example of integrity and loyalty. He was so proud of his family and loved to be with them and their friends. He made up creative stories and orchestrated treasure hunts for the grandchildren. He will be sorely missed. Funeral Services in Saint George will be held on Saturday, November 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Morningside Stake Center, 900 South River Road. Visitation will be held on Friday evening 5-7 pm and Saturday 9:30-10:45 am both at the Morningside Stake Center. Funeral Services in Sugar City, Idaho will be Monday, November 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stake Center. Visitation will be held on Sunday 5-7pm and Monday 9:30-10:45 am both at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brady Kay Howell Endowment Graduate Scholarship Fund: Maxwell School of Syracuse University, 200 Eggers Hall, Syracuse, NY 13244-1020.
