Donald Elis BEECK

Donald E. Beeck, age 91, a resident of Northland Lodge, 2500 Garfield St., Two Rivers, formerly of 3607 Maplewood Rd., died peacefully Friday evening, January 17, 2014 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, with his family at his side. Donald was born in Two Rivers on January 19, 1922 to the late Walter and Edna (Truettner) Beeck. He attended Two Rivers Schools, graduating from Washington High School with the class of 1940. Donald was united in marriage to the former Lavina Sigmund on June 16, 1945 in Milwaukee. He retired from Manitowoc Cranes where he worked as a welder for many years. He was also a longtime farmer and Real Estate Agent.Don was a lifetime member of Emanuel United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing with the church choir; he also sang with the Barbershoppers for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many hobbies which included: hunting, canoeing, camping/singing around campfires, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and playing cards. He and his wife Lavina also enjoyed many years of traveling. Don was a member of the Wayside Rough Riders Horse Club, and the Buck Stops Here Bow Club.Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Lavina Beeck; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Bonnie Beeck of Two Rivers; daughter: Susan Beeck-Pawlitzke and her husband, Dan Pawlitzke of Two Rivers; five grandchildren: Brenda (Steve) Herasimchuk, Angela Beeck, Colleen (Patrick) Lang, Derek (Abbey) Pawlitzke, and Dustin Pawlitzke; and one great grandson: Julian. He is further survived by four brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Dale Bruhn, Florida, Adolph Fronk, Two Rivers, William (Maryann) Wareham, Indiana, Bob Meade, California, and Helen Vanprooyen, Wisconsin; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sons: Larry L. Beeck and James E. Beeck; a grandson: Brian D. Beeck; two sisters: Norma Bruhn and Miriam Fronk; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Eva Sigmund; and in-laws: Elwin Sigmund, Elaine Wareham, and Bernice Meade.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Emanuel United Methodist Church, 1218 Madison St. Two Rivers. Officiating at the memorial service will be Rev. Joan Frost. Cremation will have taken place.The family will greet relatives and friends at Emanuel United Methodist Church, Saturday morning from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emanuel United Methodist Church. Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St. Two Rivers is assisting the Beeck family with funeral arrangements. Donald's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Northland Lodge for the care and compassion given to him while residing there.
