CLARINDA JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Sep 9, 1926 - Herman Grieme, who hasbeen [a] painter for the Clarinda State Hospital for a number of years,passed away Sept 3, following an illness of several months.
Mr Grieme was born in Medford, Hanover, Germany, Nov 2, 1848 and came to this country when 19 years of age, settling first in St Louis, Mo., making his home with his sister, the late Mrs Henry Wagoner. He came toClarinda something like forty-seven years ago and has resided here eversince with the exception of twelve years which he spent in St Joseph,Mo.
Deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs Sophia Hill and Minnie Grieme, and two sons, Walter and Edward Grimeme, all of whom lived in St Joseph. Mrs Grieme preceded him in death several years ago as did also a daughter, Mrs Lydia Stephens.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10:30 from the Harmon Funeral Home and interment was in the Clarinda cemetery.
CLARINDA HERALD, Clarinda, Iowa, Sep 6, 1926 Herman Grimme passed awayFriday evening at the home of his daughter in St Joseph, aged 78 years.He was until last spring painter and decorator at the state hospital,at which time he took sick and has been living there since. The funeralservices are to be held this Tuesday morning from the Harmon Funeral home, interment in the family lot in the Clarinda cemetery. He leaves two sons and two daughters, the son, Ed, living in Clarinda, having takenthe place of his father at the hospital in the work.

Mr Grieme came to this country from Germany when a lad 19 years old. Hesettled in St Louis, Mo., with his sister, the late Mrs Henry Wagoner.Mr Grieme came to Clarinda 47 years ago to live and has spent all histime here with the exception of 12 years which were spent in St Joseph,Mo.
Mr Grieme gave the asylum it's first coat of paint and he held place aspainter at the asylum for the last twelve years.
Mr Greime is survived by two daughters, Mrs Sophia Hill, Minnie Griemeand two sons, Walter and Edward Grieme all of St Joseph. Mrs Grieme anda daughter Mrs Lydia Stephens died several years ago.
The funeral services were held at 10:30 Tuesday morning from the HarmonFuneral home. Interment was made in the Clarinda Cemetery.
