Parks, of West Lafayette, was awarded the degree of doctor of philosophy at the 118th graduation exercises Wednesday, Dec. 23. at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N. Y. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris R. Parks, 491 Maple street, West Lafayette, and was graduated at RPI in 1941 with the degree of master of metallurgical engineering. He is a member of Sigma Xi. Young Parks was expected home Thursday night. Cadet Robert W. Parks of U. S. military academy at West Point has arrived to spend a Christmas furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Parks. S. T. Beeker, brother of Mrs. Parks, was also to come Thursday from Alexandria, Va, to spend Christmas at the Parks home.
