Katherine Maria Richtersl.com Dear Kent, Thank you for sending me the letter too - I have been playing around with the AHLF family quite a bit in the last few months, and am have plenty of evidence now to connect my great-grandmother Elise AHLF MILLER (of Stevens County-Nashville, IL-Chicago) with her brother George in Nashville., IL, her brother Wilhelm in St. Louis, and her brother Friedrich in Hoboken, New Jersey/Long Island. Henry Ahlf is a half-brother from the first marriage, apparantly George didn't like him at all, so not much connection with that family. Friedrich's wife (possibly 2nd wife) was Ernestine, daughter Emilie "Emmy". I was wondering what records you used to find the Isensee church info. There are various church records available through the LDS, but am curious which ones would have the best info for the marriage of Claus AHLF and Catherine RICHTER/RICHTERS. I did look through one of Osten parish (which includes the hamlet of Isensee) , and found lots of great AHLF hits from Isensee and the area and also RICHTERS from the town of Osten. So an AHLF-RICHTERS marriage would be very possible. Same parish. It would be fun to be able to pinpoint the marriage, etc. I was also curious about the 1887 entry for Catherine AHLF to America that you mention. Do you know where I can access that entry? By the way, the age of the "Corrie ALF" in the 1895 census for Stevens County, Kansas (near my great-grandmother Elise AHLF MILLER) fits exactly with Catherine AHLF the mother, so she may have settled near her daughter for a while. It may be a gross misspelling by the enumerator, trying to understand a very strong Hannoverian accent. Anyway, sorry about the rambling... Take care, Katherine Willis Bellingham, WA
