OBITUARY, The Sioux City Journal, 1 March 1984:
Mrs. Gladys M. Denton, 87, 4416 Fillmore St., died Wednesday in a Sioux City hospital after a short illness. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Dr. Max E. Goldman of Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Denton, the former Gladys M. Coon, was born April 7, 1896, near Correctionville, Iowa. She attended schools in Correctionville and Sioux City. She moved with her parents to the Leeds community in Sioux City and lived here until 1943 when she moved to Missoula,Montana. She later moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon, and returned to Sioux City about seven years ago. She married Walter Eugene Denton in 1913. He died May 23, 1966, at Klamath Falls. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Hagen of Sioux City and Mrs. Arthur (Dolores) Coles of Klamath Falls; one sister, Goldie Coon of Sioux City; twogranddaughters and five great-grandchildren.
Burial: 02 March 1984, Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Woodbury Co., Iowa
