Col. Chapman was born in Windsor, a few years previous to his father's settlement in Tolland; and occupied during his life the house before-mentioned as built by his father. He died March, 1803, aged 80 years, regardless to the last of inclemency of weather or his own personal comfort. He was found dead in his bed. Such was his apparent health and uncomplaining habits, that the disease which occasioned his death, was only a matter of conjecture. Col. Samuel Chapman married Sarah White, of Bolton, September 20, 1750.
