PATRIOT AMERICAN REVOLUTION 1776. Furnished supplies and shelter to George Washington's Soldiers. Her father, George Eskridge, was guardian for Mary Ball, George Washington's mother at an early age. Margaret Eskridge shared a home base with Mary Ball, thus was "kind of a step-aunt" to General George Washington. She is believed to be buried in Warrenton, Virginia. Margaret Eskridge was born 19 May 1711-1714 at Sandy Point Plantation, Westmoreland County, Virginia, a daughter to George Eskridge and his wife Rebecca Bonum (Eskridge Family). She married Howson Francis Kenner in Stafford County, Virginia in the year 1732 (Barnes, 733). Her husband preceded her in death in 1778. After the war, she submitted a number of claims as authorized by Congress for support given the Patriot forces. In current times, she has a number of descendants using those records for membership in the DAR and SAR (Daughters & Sons of the American Revolution). Margaret Kenner died 8 October 1801 in Fauquier County, Virginia. The Howson Kenner grave site is at Somerville, Fauquier County, Virginia--located 1/2 miles North of Somerville, WRT 610 in woods about 300 yards down trail (Baird 299). Howson Kenner, in his will, named his wife and youngest daughter as executrix of his estate: It is my will that my wife have the whole of my estate for all of her natural life . . . and the rest of my Estate . . . that my wife of living and daughter Susannah have the whole management of my Estate paying off and receiving. . . my good friend Joseph Blackwell as Executor with my wife and Daughter Susannah (dated 9 April 1778) (Howson Kenner Will). Court Fauquier County 28 Sep 1778: the motions of Margaret Kenner and Susannah Kenner Executrix's . . . granted probate (28 Sept 1778). Photo copy of original will attached. Margaret Kenner, surviving wife of Howson Kenner, died 8 October 1801 in Fauquier County, Virginia.
