Everett was born to Otto and Susanna(Tobaben) Zimmerman at their home near Volland. Services will beSaturday, July 24, 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, AltaVista. Everett married Hazel Olson on October 2, 1949, at St. Paul’s LutheranChurch, Alta Vista, Kansas. She survives at the family farm. After attending the Zimmerman School, he started his farming careerworking for area farmers in 1937 and began farming for himself in1949. Everett believed in a diversified farming operation, including adairy for many years. After becoming somewhat retired, Everett pursuedhis passion for preserving historic ag life opening Ag Heritage Parkon their 50th wedding anniversary, October 2, 1999. Everett was baptized October 15, 1922 at Zion Lutheran Church and wasconfirmed July 5, 1936 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He continued hislifelong membership of St. Paul’s Lutheran church where he heldseveral church offices and sang in the church choir. Everett and his wife, Hazel, spent their married life and raised theirthree children on their Morris County farm. Everett is survived by hischildren and their families. Connie and Dale Larson and son, MattEaston, Olsburg; Calvin and Vicki Zimmerman, Alta Vista and children,Megan and Jay Althouse, Orlando, Florida, Jamie and Ryan Ruf andEverett’s first expected great-grandchild, Quinter, Kansas and LoganZimmerman, Hiawatha; Kirby and Cindy Zimmerman, Alta Vista anddaughter Jessica and fiancé, Jacob Henkel, Manhattan. He is alsosurvived by five brothers; Melvin Zimmerman, Chapman; HarrisZimmerman, Alta Vista; Warren Zimmerman, Alta Vista; Lester Zimmerman,Mesquite, Texas and Leroy Zimmerman, Bend, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold; sister,Ophelia Falk and granddaughter Lexi Joy. Burial will be at the Dwight Cemetery. Everett will lie in state from12 noon to 7 p.m., Friday, at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, CouncilGrove, with family visitation Friday evening 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Hour, St. Paul’sLutheran Church or Midland Care Connection and may be sent toPenwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Box 273, Council Grove, KS, 66846.
