1. Obituary From the Ottumwa Daily Courier dated Wednesday, July 14, 1915. MRS. REBECCA ANN TEETER Mrs. Rebecca Ann Teeter, widow of the Rev. I.P. Teeter, was born inWest Virginia, July 25, 1831, and died at the family residence in thiscity July 7, 1915, at the age of 83 years, eleven months and twelvedays. She was united in marriage to Rev. I.P. Teeter, October 25, 1849, andto this union were born six children, three of whom died in infancy.Mary, a lovely daughter, a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan college, and thewife of Mr. Thompson, died June 14, 1878, and her remains sleep besidethose of her father in Ottumwa cemetery. A son, Joseph, died some twenty years ago and was buried in Missouri.Frank, the only surviving child, resides in this city. After the deathof her husband, which occurred in New Sharon, March 6, 1900, Mrs.Teeter made her home with her son. In addition to her son, sixgrandchildren and three great grandchildren survive her. Her husbandwas a minister in the Iowa conference of the M.E. church forforty-seven years. He filled several of the most important charges inhis conference and was twice appointed to the office of the presidingelder. During all those years of ministerial service, Mrs. Teeter washis devoted companion. It is seldom that two lives are more closelyunited than was theirs. Her husband preceded her by fifteen years. Hefell without a moment's warning like a soldier on the battlefield. Shegradually approached the end and without a pain, fell asleep and waswas not - for God had taken her.
