**************************************************** Deblon family. I found out that either Hubert or Hubert Francois Deblon was the first Deblon in Daun. He came from Polleur/Belgium. Polleur is a small village with by now about 2700 inhabitants. It is located about 5 km from Verviers and 35 km from Liège ( Lüttich ). There are still at least two families named Deblon living in town, but in the area some more other families Deblon exist. In Verviers lives a priest, named André Deblon who has good private archives about the Deblon family. I visited him, but the time was too short to get more and more detailed information. But the results of these short talks are: The Deblon's live in the area since at least the very early 17th century and they were always catholics. No indication was found yet, that they came from France and that they were Hugenottes. In your letter, dated from June last year, you have mentioned the Avenue Felix Deblon in Polleur. It is named after a Belgian Air Force Pilot from WW II, whose origin I haven´t searched for. The ancient Town Mayor Felix Deblon was a pharmacist. I am sure, that in Lüttich at the Archive de I'Etat more informations are available, but that takes more time.
