(Research):Hello, Ernst - I just saw your recent Hagedorn entry on GeneaNet Alert. We corresponded two years ago about Christina's parents. Since then I have definitely confirmed that Christina was the sister of my husband's grandfather, Fritz Hagedorn, and was thus the daughter of Hans Hinrich Hagedorn and Ida Margarethe Christina Siems. If you want the proofs I will send them to you. Ralph Leonard, the Carroll County, Iowa GenWeb coordinator provided them to me in the form of newspaper clippings. I also have a letter from Judy Haguewood, who did the Pedigree Resource File from which you probably got your incorrect information about Christina's parents. She agrees that her listing was incorrect. Her parents may have been Hans Hinrich and Ida Margrethe Christine Elisabeth (Siems) Hagedorn. Christina Margrette married Hans Dietrich Ehlers, a son of Claus Hinrich Friedrich and Maria Margaretha (Pruss) Ehlers, in 1861. They moved to Clinton County, Iowa, in 1865 and lived there for a time before moving to Crawford County, Iowa. Hans Dietrich and Christina had twelve children: John, Fritz, Henry, Richard, Rose, Emma, Bertha, Charles, William, Louis, Ed, and Emil Cleveland Ehlers.
