Of note is that son Johann Jacob Bowman (1733 - 1794) does not appear to be identical to John Bowman (1740-1830), and place of birth differs from other sources. Birth: 1718, Switzerland Death: 1803 Linville Rockingham County Virginia, USA Johann was the son of Johann Jakob & Elizabeth Kruegar. He immigrated in 1737 to America with his first wife, Verena·Vreni and three children. They were to be the parents of 11 children-Verena, John Jacob, Catherine, Barbara (Hunter), Henry, Jacob, Isaac, Benjamin, Joseph, and Peter. After Verena's death, Johann married Anna Catherine Wine in 1782. They were the parents of Benjamin, Joseph, and Frances (Bright). Johann may have married a woman named Barbara in 1772.
