Notizen zu dieser Person

Alisdair was nicknamed Ruadh na Feile ( the Redhead and Kindhearted). He led Clan Chattan at the Battle of Culloden at the urging of Ann Mackintosh ('Major Ann'), whose husband, Angus Chief of theMackintosh, rightly assessed the cause as hopeless and wanted to ally with the English instead. Alisdair was killed. At the time of his death he was engaged to be married to Elisabeth Campbell.

His brother William became IX Chief, was in India with 88th Highland (Gordon) Regiment and died in Portugal.

There were three more brothers and a sister.
