Marlene was born to William and Cecelia (Diercks) Polley on July 21, 1934. She graduated from McIntosh High School as Valedictorian. She married Roland E. Habedank June 21, 1957 and they lived on his family farm until 1978 when they moved into McIntosh.
Marlene worked for the U.S. Postal Service beginning in the early 70's, retiring as postmaster of the McIntosh office in the mid-90's. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, active in Evening Circle, Ladies Aid, teaching Sunday school, and singing in the choir. She loved reading mysteries, music, and quilting, making more than 300 quilts for relief.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers LaVerne, Lyle, Howard, Victor, and Merrill, and husband Roland in 2008.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Stanley, Diane Habedank, Dr. Marilyn (Rodney) Klug, Heidi (William) Raymond; sister, Ruth Mueller; brother, Gerald (Susan) Polley; four grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins
