The 422-ton barque Magdalena, which landed on 18 July 1860 in Melbourne , was built in Hamburg in 1857 and made two trips to Melbourne, the last being in 1860 under Captain M.D. Henrichsen. It landed with supplies and with 93 passengers offering a wide range of occupations and coming mainly from Denmark, Schleswig-Holstein, Wurtemburg, Saxony, Prussia and Hannover:

Obituary.—Mr. Frederick Leonhardt, an old and respected resident of -Alley-street, Ironbark; passed away last evening. Deceased had been in failing health for several months,: and was under the care of Dr. Atkinson. : He was 72-years of age, and a colonist of over 40 years, 35 of which were spent at Ironbark. He leaves a widow, two daughters and a son. The funeral will take place to the Bendigo Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
