SOUTH ELGIN/ELGIN - Mary Dolores Masheris, 91, of South Elgin, Elgin, IL and Grand Junction, CO, passed away January 25th at Presence St. Joseph Hospital. She was born April 10, 1919, in Caney, OK the daughter of John Frank and Callie Mae (White) Reynolds. She attended Ravenswood Hospital School of Nursing and was a private duty nurse in the many of the local Fox Valley hospitals and homes of her patients. Later she earned her 2-year degree from Elgin Community College, Elgin, IL, and then earned a BA of Education from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL. Mary was a teacher at Sheridan Elementary School in Elgin, IL, until she retired. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed travelling with her husband. She is survived by her two children - Sherry Masheris of Elgin and Michael (Belinda) Masheris of South Elgin, two grandchildren - Romana (Joseph Ottolino) Masheris and Michelle (Lee Goodwin) Masheris, along with a great-granddaughter, Samantha Masheris. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 4-8 PM at the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S.
