Steve was a watch and clock repairman and a farmer. At his death helived about four miles north of Union High School on Midway road. (The following is taken from the Law family book "The Preacher".) My first contact was a young lady who works as a nurse at HoustonCounty Hospital in Warner Robins. she has not given me permission to useher name. Considering her young age and the number of generations betweenher and Steve law, she did extremely well. She is the great granddaughterof Stephen M. D. Law and Sally Simmons. Several months later, another young lady from the same branch of theLaw family by marrage had almost one hudred percent of Stev M. D. Law'sgenealogical information through six , seven or eight ganerations. Thegracious lady is Helen Maine McDaniel. She married Harlow McDaniel, grandson of Mary Bessie Law Mullikin, daughter of Steven M. D. Law andSallie Simmons. Sarah (Sally) Margaret Simmions was the daughter of James Simmions, born in 1836, and Caroline McEachin, born in 1831. Sally was born on Oct8, 1858. Sally's mother Caroline McEachin was the daughter of Peter McEachin andMolsey Hargrove. This is the home where "The Preacher" and his familywere in the census of 1860 prior to the war between the states;therefore, you can see where this romance started between Steve and Sally.
