Married and settled in Buncombe Co., NC in 1807. By 1810 he and his wifehad three sons and three daughters, all "to 10 yrs of age." Still livingin 1850 in Spring Creek district, Buncombe Co. Died before 1870 Census. January 20, 1814, Henery Colwell bought the first land inCataloochee. this 100 acres lies up past the schoolhouse, the big fieldwhere the Caldwell barn sits on the edge of the road. He, his son andGrandson built the first two log cabins.
