I, Levi Harrell, being old and knowing that in common course of natureI shall not long remain on earth, I make my last will and testament. 1.I will that my body be buried in a neat and Christian like manner. 2.Should my beloved wife Elizabeth outlive me, she is to select whateverportion of my land she may desire and such horses, mules, cattle, stockof all kinds, farming utensils and household furniture, and six grownnegroes all for her support. At her death this is all to be divided asthe rest of my estate is divided. 3. I have advanced in money, negroes,rent or otherwise the sum of five hundred dollars to each of my followingchildren. WILLIAM H. HARRELL, LOVARD L. HARRELL, WRIGHT W. HARRELL, JOHNW. HARRELL, LEVI H. HARRELL, SARAH HENDLEY, wife of WILLIAM HENDLEY,NANCY DAVIS, wife of ZION L. DAVIS, CATHERINE TRAMMEL, wife of DANIEL H.TRAMMEL. It is my intention to advance to each of my remaining childrenfive hundred dollars before my death, but if I fail to do so, ELIZABETHHARRELL, NEEDHAM W. HARRELL, EDNEY HARRELL, and ANNA LEE, wife ofFRANKLIN LEE are to receive that much more than my other children in thefinal division. 4. The remainder of my negroes are to be divided equally between mychildren, making every effort to keep families together and in no caseseparating wife and husband. The remainder of my property is to be soldand divided equally between all my children. 5. The property given to mydaughters is to be free of liability of their present or futurehusbands. 6.
