EnlistedMarch 30, 1861, Marianna, Florida. He appears as Third Corporal inOctober 1861 then was promoted to First Corporal, November 1, 1861. Hewas transferred January 18, 1862 to (New) Company B, First FloridaInfantry. He was captured in Kentucky in late 1862 and exchanged in early1863. It is across theroad from a pond, near Ham Feed Company. It's located across the field ina clump of trees about center. There is a wire fence inside the clump oftrees surrounding and dividing up the clump. We looked around but did not findany other stones. There are several large trees down in there. Very"snaky" looking although we did not see any snakes either. Single Headstone (broken in half when large cedar tree fell on it) Inscription: F. M. Rodgers b.25 May 1839 d.12 Feb 1875 This individual was Francis Marion Rogers/Rodgers son of Thomas Rogers.He was the brother of my gg-grandmother, Polly Ann Rogers Stephens. Wehad been told her husband, my gg-grandfather, Benjamin H. Stephens wasburied out there but we could find no headstone.
