Notizen zu dieser Person

1839 (Taufe Nr. 67) Klein Silkow, Vater: Kathemann Heinrich Naggatz, Mutter: Friederica Wummel, Sohn: Johann August, geb. 23. Oct., get. 3. Nov., Paten: 1. Michael Ponnow zu Gr. Gansen, 2. Friedrich Albrecht aus der Loitz, 3. Wilhelmine Naggatz aus Sanskow;--- In an attempt to assist his wife, who had suffered a paralytic stroke, John Naggatz, for twenty years a resident of Barrington, was overcome by the shock himself and lay helpless upon the floor by theside of his wife for twelve hours Wednesday. When assistance came to them Mr. Naggatz had taken a severe cold from his exposure; pneumonia soon developed, and he passed away at an early hour this (Thursday) morning. Mrs. Naggatz's condition is somewhat improved, but owing to her advanced years (she being seventy-six), and the death of her husband coming so unexpectedly, it was indeed a severe shock to her when she recovered from the stroke, and it will be some time before she regains her normal strength. John Naggatz was born in Onakenburg, Prussia, October 23, 1839, seventy-seven years ago and was united in marriage to the surviving widow in 1867 at Kolsave, Prussia. He came America with his family in 1877. They made their home in Dundee for three years, after which they moved to a farm near Barrington, then to Palatine and about twenty years ago removed to this village. Mr. Naggatz was a familiar figure at the Main street crossing of the Northwestern for eighteen years, he being flagman at this point. He also worked as a section hand before taking the position as flagman. Surviving, besides the widow, are five children, two sons and three daughters. They are Max of this village, Frank of Palatine, Mrs. Henry Meyer of Lake Zurich, Mrs. William Wehrenberg of Dover, Oklahoma, and Mrs. F. Gahlbeck of Palatine. All of the children, excepting Mrs. Wehrenberg, came to be present at the funeral, which will be held Saturday afternoon at one o'clock at the latter's home on Walnut street, followed by a brief service at St. Paul's church in charge of Rev. H. Zielke. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. John & Caroline had 7 (known) children: Hanne Sophie Naggatz 1857-1919 Frank Theodore Naggatz 1867-1941 Charles August Naggatz 1871-1914 Anna Alvina Charlotte Naggatz 1876-1950 Williamina Christina Carolina Naggatz 1881-1966 Max August Naggatz 1882-1937 Wilhelm Rehinhold Naggatz 1886-1952 http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=naggatz&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSob=n&GSsr=41&GRid=66649802&df=all& Summary of Immigrant Record - Archival records show Johann Naggatz from Germany traveling to Illinois leaving from the port at Bremen arrived in the year 1877 on the ship named Ohio. He was about age38 years at the time and was listed in the customs manifest as a Farmer. Related Family - In addition we found 4 passengers who may have a family relationship to Johann Naggatz ..
