EYMAN. Word has been received in Jerseyville of the death of Mrs Lenora May Eyman, first grade teacher for many years in the Jerseyville Public Schools, who succumbed to a heart attack at Orinda, Calif, last Saturday morning. Mrs Eyman, daughter of the late Samuel Beaman and Ida Belle Nott, lived almost her entire life in Jerseyville. She was married June 15, 1910 to William Brwonlow May, a Jerseyville merchant who died Feb. 2, 1941. On Nov 11, 1961 Mrs May was married to Dr Ralph L. Eyman, Dean Emeritus of the College of Education at Florida State University, Tallahassee, Fla, a former JerseyCounty Farm Extension Agent. Dr and Mrs Eyman made their home in Tallahassee. This summer they had been on an extended tour of the West and were visiting in Orinda, Calif. at the home of Mr and Mrs William Clyatt, son-in-law and daughter of Dr Eyman, when Mrs Eyman was stricken. For 33 years Mrs Eyman, or Mrs May as she was known to her pupils, was a teacher in the public schools of Jersey county. For 26 of these years she taught first grade at the Jerseyville East Elementary School. She also served many years as Postmaster of the summer post office at Chautauqua. After retiring from teachingshe served several years as Executive Secretary for the Jersey County Red Cross and slightly more than a year as a Counsellor at Monticello College, Godfrey. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs Louis Keehner and Misses Laura and Susan Nott of Jerseyville and one nephew, Paul Keehner of Paris. Mrs Eyman will be returned here for burial. Funeral plans are indefinite pending the arrival of Dr Eyman.
