BIOGRAPHY: 1748: He is listed in Harxheim tax roll [University of Heidelberg, LAN SP, A 16,171, p.11 (back sheet)];

1753: Ulrich worked as a farm-hand "in Harxheim area" [Secondary source, information is questionable! Mennonitisches Lexikon, vol.4, p.596; Karlsruhe 1967].

1757 he and his wife Anna Catharina swapped their property in Harxheim with Jakob Licht's (wife: Anna Catharina) property in Einselthum [Mennonitisches Lexikon, vol.4, p.596; Karlsruhe 1967].

In the record of Jacob Licht in the tax roll of Harxheim of Nov 13, 1759, one of his fields is situated adjacent to land of "Ullrich Flory from Einselthum" [Harxheim tax roll 1759; STA SP , F3, 103].

In 1759 he lived in Einselthum with his wife and one child, and "his old parents" [Palatine census of mennonites; Jun 16,1759; GLA KA 77/4213, Aufn.einh. 226].

On Aug 17, 1763, he sold the hereditary tenancy property, which was owned by Mrs. von Riesmann, that he run in Einselthum, to Nicolaus Bardon for the amount of 820Guilders [Contracts and agreements in Einselthum; LAN SP, F5, 71, page 81 (front sheet)];

In 1764 he acted as a witness at the local court of Einselthum on Apr 5, 1764, and Jul 9, 1764 [Court records of Einselthum; LAN SP, F5, 728].

On Feb 4, 1766, the Prince of Nassau-Weilburg gave his consent to the sale to Ulrich Flory [County of Nassau-Weilburg, administration; LAN SP, C38, 697].

On May 15, 1766, he became the hereditary tenant of a property called "Herrengut", sheep-farm, farmland and meadows in Stauf, after he had acquired it from Johann Franz Dassdorf for the amount of 3,000 Guilders [County of Nassau-Weilburg, administration; LAN SP, C35, 1899].

On Aug 29, 1767, there is was a report of Mr. Wüstenfeld, official of Nassau-Weilburg, dealing with Mennonite issues. It contains a list of the Mennonites living in Kirchheim-Bolanden area. There is listed at Stauf: Ulrich Flory, hereditary tenant, and Franz Flory [Report of Mr. Wüstenfeld, official of Nassau-Weilburg, Aug 29, 1767; state archives of Wiesbaden].

On May 1, 1769, he sold Herrengut property to Johannes Hertzeler [County of Nassau-Weilburg, administration; LAN SP, C38, 698].

In Aug 1769 he asked for the authority's consent to the sale of Herrengut property to Johannes Hertzeler [County of Nassau-Weilburg, administration; LAN SP, C38, 698].

Johannes Hertzeler obtained his letter of hereditary tenancy on Apr 28, 1774 [County of Nassau-Weilburg,administration; LAN SP, C35, 1900].

In 1789/1790 Johannes Hertzeler dividied the property into two shares which of one was given to his son-in-law Leonhard Göbel [County of Nassau-Weilburg, Herrschaften Kirchheim and Stauf; STA WI, 168a, VIII b 42].

RESEARCH-NOTES: He has several children by Mar 8, 1766 [stated in official Wüstenfeld's advise to the domain 1766; county of Nassau-Weilburg, administration; LAN SP, C38, 697].

In a report by the same official on Mar 26, 1767, there is stated that Ulrich has "four children" [County of Nassau-Weilburg, administration; LAN SP, C38, 697, 19].
