Helen Vennemann, her sisters and their de Buys cousins moved to Los Angeles in the early 1900s from New Orleans, Louisiana. Carl Malmgren and his sisters, who had been born in Nebraska andlived in Houston, Texas also moved to Los Angeles about 1904. Carl Henry Malmgren about 1920
Carl was born in 1885. He married Helen Vennemann in 1917 and died in 1929. This photograph was taken about 1920, the year their son Jack was born. It is the photograph that sat on his wife's dresser for the rest of her life.
