Notizen zu dieser Person
Mary was among the Puritan passengers on the William and Thomas on its voyage from Amsterdam to Virginia. The ship had been blown off course and arrived at the Virginia Capes 24 August 1618. There was no known record of Mary's mother at the time of the writing of "Three Hundred Sixty Years Later" by Charles Collier. It was also unclear if her father died aboard ship or shortly after it arrived in Virginia. Mary was awarded 490 acres on Hog Island on the James River in 1619. The documents indicate that she was the sole daughter and heir. Hog Island is located about 5 miles south of Jamestown and is the site of the Surry Nuclear Power Plant as well as a wildlife refuge.
The work of Mr. Collier, dated Salisbury, North Carolina 1978 was the prime source of this information and that of the descendants of this line.
