Michael Tragl Midwife: Maria Anna Baumann, resident of Neumark Annotation: Baptism certificate issued on 21 December, 1864 N. Exh. 226 [Baptism certificate probably issued in preparation for his immigration !]

TOD: OBIT: Blasius MEIDL, "Post" 5 Jan 1912 - from Ann Larson, Manitowoc On 28 Dec, Blasius MEIDL, a well known old settler of our county, died in Whitelaw. Mr. MEIDL, who was born 12 [21] Nov., 1838, came from the well known city of Pilsen. [Bohemia] In 1866, [Birth records show he was born in Kaltenbrunn and was married in Neumark where his first two children where born]. Mr. MEIDL, came to this country as a young married man to make a home for his family. He had all the sorrow and joy of the Pioneer. Several years ago he retired when age made it impossible to continue with farm work. He leaves a widow and six children. In his last days, he had the pain to bear that four of his children were taken in death. Burial on 30 December.

BIOGRAPHIE: (Possibility that "Jiri" MEIDL, was a brother of Blasius, there was an intention of a Jiri MEIDL, b. Bohemia 1834, arrived Baltimore in Jun 1867. int: 17 Mar 1869]
[Notes of Don Zipperer] - Blasius and Margaret Meidl established their dairy farm immediately north of the village of Whitelaw on land adjacent to the railroad tracks. In 1986, the dairy farm was still in the family and operated by grandson Robert Schamburek. (Son of Clara Meidl and John W. Schamburek). When Blasius retired, he and Margaret stayed on the original homestead. The Schamburek (Zamborik) dairy farm was located next to the Meidl homestead.
