BIOGRAPHIE: Marshfield Story, Volume 2, page 322 from Marshfield News-Herald, January 21, 1930 Joseph Robert Schambureck - Former School District Director Joseph Robert Schambureck is a native of the town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, where he was born January 30, 1875. He received his education in a public school in the community of his birth and in a Catholic school in Whitelaw. Until he was 20 years of age he worked on the home farm and other farms. Then he became an apprentice at the mason trade, which he followed for five years. Next he equipped himself with a gasoline engine and other machinery and engaged in custom hay baling, wood sawing and feed cutting for five years. Following his marriage, he rented the home farm, which he ran a year, after which he ran his father-in-law's farm one year. In 1909 he acquired a farm in the town of Marshfield, where he has been living since. He has 80 acres; 33 acres of which are under cultivation, 10 acres in woods and the remainder in pasture. The farm is improved with modern buildings and equipped with the machinery necessary for the successful operation of the place. His cattle are mostly high-grade Holsteins with a purebred sire. His other livestock are Rhode Island Red chickens, Chester White pigs and three horses. He was married about 24 years ago to Miss Theresa Cipper of Cato, Manitowoc County, in a Catholic church at Whitelaw. Their children are: Clara and Eleanor at Evanston, Illinois; and Bernard and Marie, at home. He is a member of the Equity Local, and the Catholic church at Hewitt and a stockholder of the Farmers Cooperative Produce Company of this city. Politically, he is Independent. His hobbies are hunting and fishing.
