Goblirsch, 65, well-known grain buyer, clerk in the Lafayette post office and farmer, died at the Goblirsch home in the village of Lafayette Tuesday at 3:50 p.m. Mr. Goblirsch had been in failing health for the past year, and his death was not unexpected.
Born, February 13, 1874, in Lafayette township he grew to manhood there and was married May 30, 1899 to Miss Katherine Smasal, who survives, at the St. George Catholic church. The Family resided on a farm in Lafayette township for a time and then moved to Lafayette village where they have since made their home.
After leaving the farm Mr. Goblirsch was a grain buyer for the Farmers Elevator Company at Lafayette. He then was clerk in the Lafayette post office for two years and for the past 12 years has been grain buyer for the Great Western Grain Company at Lafayette.
Well-known and respected, Mr. Goblirsch had a host of friends in the Lafayette community.
Family of 5 SurvivesIn addition to his widow, he survived by two sons, Leo Goblirsch, Lafayette, and Edmund Goblirsch, Minneapolis and two daughters, Mrs. Jos. Seitz and Mrs. Rudolph Schmidt, Lafayette.
Funeral services will be held from the Holy Trinity Catholic church Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery.
