Hermann Vennemann about 1875 (91 KB)Hermann was born in Quakenbrück, Osnabrück, Hannover, Germany in 1845. He was the son of Fredrich Vennemann [1811-1879] & Rosalie Müller [1819-1879] who were also born in Quakenbrück. Hermann emigrated to New Orleans, Louisiana. [We have recently learned that Hermann was married to Katharina Liebert June 6, 1864 in New Orleans and that they had a son, George, who was born November 30, 1866 & died August 5, 1899 in New Orleans. WE WOULD LOVE TO FIND DESCENDENTS OF GEORGE'S DAUGHTER LILLIAN.] Herman married Eulalie Goy December 21, 1872. They were the parents of at least 8 children and lived at No. 242 ½ Esplanade and at No. 468 Royal Street in the City. City records indicate that during the 1870s Hermann was a clerk for D. Mercier. Hermann died in 1895 and was buried in St. Louis Cemetery #3 on December 30, 1895. Other residence addresses for Hermann in the late 1800s include: 214 Orleans St.; 128 N.
