Notizen zu dieser Person
William gave to Ralf the barony of Oxburg, or Oxenburg in Norfolk, and41 other manors in several counties with the lands of Christina one ofthe sisters of Prince Edgar, whom Ralf married. They had Ralf who married Hadewise and hadAlan, whose son Gerardmarried Amy, (daughter of Trian de Hornelade of Bidun Limisi), whoseson John married Alice, daughter of Robert of Harcourt, died in 1198and left a son, Hugh, who is said to have died without issue some timeafter 1223. Through John's sister (and co-heir) part of the baronypassed by marriage with David de Limisey to the Lindsays, or Lindseysof Scotland. Some genealogies name Christina Etheling, daughter of Edward theEtheling as Ralf's wife. This is highly improbable and more wishfulthinking. Christina is well known for having been abbess of Romseyuntil her death and can therefore not be the mother of Ralf'schildren.
