Some sources list him as died in 1939 in Enola. This is an obviousmistake since it would make him 118 years old. John Lewis Polk was the son of Ezekiel Polk and Elizabeth "Betsy"Phillips. This is verified by papers from the estate of Ezekiel Polk,listing all the children of Ezekiel Polk, viz. Ihave never found him in the 1850 census, must be very badlymisindexed; I know he must be in Georgia from the birthplace of thechildren. In 1860, John is in the Hall Co., GA., census. In 1870,Prentiss Co., MS., census. In 1880, Faulkner Co., AR. census. He diedbetween the 1880 census and the 1900 census, but I don't know when. Hewas buried in the Heffington Cemetery, Faulkner Co., AR. His wifeBarbara died in 1911, Enola, Falukner Co., AR.
