Notizen zu dieser Person
Tradition has it that Hezekiah Starbuck was captain of a whaling shipfor a time before the outbreak of revolution in the Colonies. When thewar began, he was at sea, and had to slip by a British warship to enterthe harbor on his return. He evidently gave up whaling, for early in 1786,he and his family were accepted as members of New Garden Meeting,Guilford County, North Carolina. By 1825, all his children had left the state of North Carolina, andHezekiah, with his wife Judith, made the move to Ohio. This trip issaid to have been made by water around Florida, up the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers to Cincinnati, then by land to the community of Dover, inClinton County, Ohio.
