[86666.ftw] Elizabeth made the trip to the United States in 1737, with her husbandJohannes Schnauber and their FIVE children on the ship 'St. AndrewsGalley.' Anna Elizabeth Windemuth, daughter of Johan Christoph Windemuth andMary Marguerite Kleppinger, was born January 9, 1703, in RhenishBavaria, Germany. She was married to Johannes Schnauber (after comingto America the name was changed to Snover) in 1722, most likely atPfungstadt, Hesse, Germany. She passed away in 1768, and was buried inthe cemetery of the old Stillwater Presbyterian Church, formerly theOld Hardwick Cemetery at Stillwater, New Jersey. Johannes Schnauberwas born in Pfungstadt in 1701, and passed away on February 16, 1774,at Stillwater, New Jersey, and was laid to rest alongside his wife inthe Old Hardwick Cemetery. Anna and her husband came to America,through Philadelphia, on September 26, 1737, aboard the the ship St Andrew Galley. Johannes Schnauber and hisson, John Heinrick, were naturalized in 1764. It is not known if Annaever became naturalized or not. Anna and Johannes were the parents of seven children named AnnMargaretha, John Heinrick, Anna Elizabeth, Johann Georg, Johannes,Maria Philipina, and Frederick. Anna Elisabetha Wintermute b. 9 Jan 1703 m. c. 1722 Johannes Schnauber(the anglicized version has become Snover) b. 1701 Germany. The Snoverfamily arrived at Philadelphia, 26 Sept 1737 on the ship, "SaintAndrew Galley." They remained in the Philadelphia area a few years andthen removed to Stillwater, Sussex County, New Jersey, perhaps incompany with her two brothers and their families. They had removed to Stillwater before 11 Sept 1746 when "JohannesSnauber and wife Anna Elisabetha Windemoedin witnessed a baptism. AnnaElizabeth was a sponsor at the baptism in Oct 1747 of her nephew, JohnWintermute at Walpack, Sussex County. The family perhaps returned tothe Philadelphia area as their daughter, Maria Phillipina was baptisedin June 1757 at Trappe, Montgomery County in a German Lutheran churchthere or they returned only for her baptism. Elizabeth Wintermute'snieces and nephews were being baptised in the Dutch Reformed Churches.If they returned to the Philadelphia area they again returned toStillwater. John was naturalized there, 13 Feb 1764. Elizabeth d. in1768. John's Will is dated 26 May 1770, Hardwick, Sussex County and henamed children, Henry, Fredrik, Anna Margret, and Maria Philipina.Executors were John Walldruff, Philip Snider, and George Wintermoot.John d. 16 Feb 1774. Inventory was dated 3 Mar 1774 and conducted byJacob Dodderer and Peter Bernit Shaver. Will proven, 5 Mar. Thecemetery markers of Elizabeth and John are in the Stillwater Cemeteryand read "Elizabeth Snover 1768" and "John Snover born 1701 died Feb1774 age 73 yrs."
